From K Space Contemporary:
“Nichole Schiller is a Texas native who graduated from Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi in 2020 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She works in primarily 3-dimensional media including steel fabrication, wood, foundry works, and ceramics. Themes of her work focus on family origin, self-responsibility, and silver linings.
In her new exhibition Open for Opportunity, Schiller displays what opportunity can be and how it can differ from person to person. Her installation invites viewers to become co-creators in this art exhibition by providing input on the opportunities they have been given as well as opportunities they have given others.
Doors, like opportunities, require action to be fully utilized. They need to be built, opened, unlocked, or sometimes closed. It is because of this that the door is heavily utilized to represent opportunity.
