From The Moments Project:
“The Moments Project is excited to announce the upcoming release of Interference by Shardé Chapman. This digital photo exhibition explores the tense and complicated relationship between two black communities of color. It is a complimentary artistic presentation to Interference, The Moments Project’s first artistic phase and dance film that explores the relationship between Africans and African Americans inspired by community stories collected in Houston. The exhibition is curated by the project’s creative director Kemi OG (@kemi.og), and created/narrated by its principal photographer, Shardé Chapman (@shardechapman). Interference by Shardé Chapman is partially sponsored by the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance, and Houston in Action through the 2020 #Htownvotes initiative. About The Moments Project Moments is a multi-phasic creative project that presents works of multimedia art and performance highlighting the diversity of contemporary African art and culture and the stories of local communities of color. The Moments Project reimagines dance art by leveraging other art styles to create immersive experiences that push the envelope of Diasporic African entertainment culture in all its forms. The mission is to empower dancers and artists within the Afro community and the communities of color through meaningful, sustainable, and socially conscious art pieces. It is designed to be an iterative active learning process that uses creative projects to understand better and ultimately meet artist needs and bridge gaps in professional development at a local level.
