“The Center for Contemporary Arts opened its 5th Annual CCAN (Center for Contemporary Arts National Juried Competition) Exhibition last week. This national competition had over 350 entries submitted from over 30 states. 150 works were selected for exhibition in the Center’s Breed Gallery. Dallas- based artist, Liz Trosper served as juror for this year’s competition, and is exhibiting her art in the Center’s Gallery 4 in correlation with the CCAN exhibition. Trosper’s exhibition is titled The Soft Machine. The Center will host closing events on Saturday, November 20th to highlight the exhibition, including an Art Brunch and artist paint-off from 10 am to 12 pm at Nora Hall (202 Cypress), and an awards reception that afternoon, from 3-5 pm. Art Brunch tickets are on sale at center-arts.com. The awards reception is free and open to the public.
