From the Irving Arts Center:
“Amy Werntz is an artist obsessed with time, of the fear of its passing and the feeling of not living in the correct moment. This passion plays out in her art which seeks to capture the seemingly insignificant moments of everyday life.
Werntz meticulously crafts highly realistic portraits, figures and faces isolated from the environment. Their features, gestures, clothing and props offer only clues to a narrative. She leaves the viewer to fill in the details from their own life experience, to create a story from their history and perhaps to see the importance of each and every life in a society that is often too fascinated with the lure of youth.”
