From the gallery:
“Meredith Pardue’s springtime solo exhibition, I Am the Moon, is rooted in our relationship with the moon, and the inherent mystery and rituals that this rapport has inspired throughout human history. Pardue’s palette ranges from moody and dark monochromes to explosive saturation. The mark making of this body or work spans from brushwork reminiscent of mid-century abstract expressionists to raw, primitive strokes, most boldly evident in the dramatic asymmetrical diptych titled Cave. A few compositions with pod-like forms seem to undulate around, within, and beyond the parameters of the canvas in what has become Pardue’s signature aesthetic over the last decade.”
