From the Museum:
“This exhibit features photography, poetry, history, and augmented reality to tell the story of one family’s ancestral journey to freedom. Akofena, Dada, Aba, Nunu, Fifi, Kokou & Ashanti will take us on an ancestral journey to freedom. Using augmented reality, these powerful women will speak from the walls to share the tragedies and triumphs of their fight to reclaim their liberation after Dada was captured and sold into slavery. Each portrait represents a new generation with a renewed determination to strengthen their legacy as they grew forward. Freedom was their only destiny and they let nothing keep them from it.”
