A series of flavor-rich field recordings take us through a panorama of secluded and public spaces – layering up with synthesizer, bird songs, and white noise into a sound parfait. These movements, simultaneously serene and mundane, are frequently punctuated by overhead helicopters, rushing traffic, and the rumble-clang of construction equipment; jolting us from lucid dreams back to the city’s interior. Mohammad describes the piece as “trying to take the walls off of the car” as he carries us between worlds and scenes “to hand somebody back the vacation or the destination trip that they weren’t able to have due to us all being locked in our houses for the last year”. The looping composition becomes a non-orientable surface – forever pushing us forward as we sit at the gates of a dormant lot waiting for spring.”
