From the gallery:
“In the Front BOX, Raymond Compton delves further into their KUMQUAT universe in a campy exploration of the body with the exhibition Hoagie!
Hoagie! is a further expansion into the KUMQUAT universe! This time we create and explore our own meaning of the body’s journey from bare fundamentals to doctrine of existing to ultimately self destruction. The exhibition will be very campy and fun, and have very beautiful dresses. Thank you!
Raymond Compton is an interdisciplinary artist who has created the character “KUMQUAT” to explore humankind’s history of Subjectivity to the ways of existence. Through re-imagining goals of “life,” labor, and gender through “campy” and theatrical creations. KUMQUAT explores this through different mediums such as paint, costumes, and live performances.”
