October 3 - 30, 2020
“Catherine Couturier Gallery is delighted to present A Thousand Miles from Nowhere, an exhibition of new work by gallery artist Mabry Campbell. The exhibition features Campbell’s latest black and white photographs. Driving the viewer into desolate areas, such as the long roads between West Texas towns, Campbell presents surreal landscapes as well as a collection of minimalist pieces. While the subject matter is new, Campbell’s style remains steadfast with very long exposures which create an altered sense of reality while still presenting a clear sense of place. Mabry Campbell is a fine art photographer from Houston, Texas. Campbell’s photography has garnered numerous international awards and press since 2013. Most recently, Campbell was featured in the September 2020 issue of Texas Highways. His piece Key to the Houston Water Wall (2012) appeared on the issue’s cover. Campbell earned his Liberal Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his MBA from Rice University. He is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers + Fine Art Group, the Houston Center for Photography and the Texas Photographic Society.
Unlike previous exhibitions, there will be no public reception, and private viewings must be booked in advance. Appointments made on October 3rd will include the artist.”
