October 26 - December 3, 2020
From the Wright Gallery:
“The Wright Gallery at Texas A&M University in College Station has announced its newest exhibition, “A Dark Wood Grew Inside Me,” on display from October 26 to December 3, 2020. This multimedia exhibit is the result of collaboration between two Texas-based artists: visual artist Hollis Hammonds and poet Sasha West. The artists question both individual and societal contributions to the environmental crisis. Hammonds’ drawings reflect the melancholy and darkness manifested in West’s poems, asking viewers to reexamine the impact of the elements when those elements are fed by human actions.
West has received numerous literary awards and Hammond’s work has been widely exhibited throughout the U.S. Both are professors at St. Edward’s University in Austin.”
