“Cold War defense meets 21st-century satellites meet desert ecology meets fine arts in this display of huge, magnificent photographs. The Cardozier Gallery brings to the Basin a powerful collection previously displayed at Washington DC’s National Academy of Sciences, Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Nevada Museum of Art and featured in Wired magazine, Denmark’s Politken, and the National Geographic.
–Artists Bio
Damon Sauer and Julie Anand are collaborative artists based in Phoenix, Arizona. They have been collaborating for fifteen years. They both received their MFA degrees in Photography from the University of New Mexico in 2005. Their work has been exhibited at venues including RayKo Gallery in San Francisco, Florida State University Art Museum, the El Paso Museum of Art, Museo de Arte, Cuidad Juarez, and the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC.. Their current project, Ground Truth, was reviewed in the Washington Post, Hyperallergic, Wired, Harper’s, and published in National Geographic. The project is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Center for Art + Environment at the Nevada Museum of Art.”
