August 28 - September 26, 2020
From the Georgetown Art Center:
“Blissful Ignorance is an exhibit of graphite drawings by artist Mayuko Ono Gray that hybridizes traditional Japanese calligraphy with Western drawing practices and aesthetics.
Traditional Asian art-forms have often integrated word and image. Mayuko draws upon literary artifacts ranging from proverbs to poetry to influence her calligraphy and creates unique word-images that are reflections on human nature, place, self, ephemerality, permanence, and universal wisdom.”
