“The School of Art and Design’s annual Student Juried Exhibition celebrates the distinguished work of Texas State University students. Previously scheduled to be on view during the Spring 2020 term, this exhibition is now on view during Summer Session II, by appointment and ON-LINE.
Join us on July 13 at 12:00 PM for an on-line awards presentation and lecture by this year’s juror, Ed Schad, Curator and Publications Manager at The Broad in Los Angeles. Schad has curated such exhibitions as Shirin Neshat: I Will Greet the Sun Again and Carlos Cruz-Diez’s Couleur Additve. He co-curated Creature, Oracle and A Journey That Wasn’t; and was the host-curator of Jasper Johns: Something Resembling Truth. Schad was managing editor of The Broad Collection; The Broad: An Art Museum Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro; The Broad: Art and Architecture; and Cindy Sherman: Imitation of Life, all published by Delmonico Prestel. His writing has been included in Art Review, Frieze, Modern Painters, Flash Art, The Brooklyn Rail, The L.A. Weekly, Truthdig, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. In addition, he has contributed essays to monographic catalogs on the work of Robert Irwin, Sterling Ruby, Kaz Oshiro, Annie Lapin, Albert Contreras, Raimons Staprans, Charles Garabedian, Pieter Vermeersch, and Liat Yossifor.”
