Sweet Pass Sculpture Park presents, Nearly Natural, curated by Nathaniel Hitchcock – An exhibition illustrating the contemporary status of landscape as a mediated plain – a multitude of disparate technologies responsible for making marks and sculpting meaning. Artists in the exhibition express understandings of the landscape that question the interrelationships between technologies of illusion and the act of inhabiting a site. The title, Nearly Natural, is appropriated from the American company by the same name – a vender of artificial, silk trees and hedges.
Artists include : Andreas Angelidakis (Athens, Greece), Gabriel Cohen (LA), Julien Cruezet (Paris, France), Ricardo Morales-Hernández (Puerto Rico), and Letha Wilson (NY)
Nathaniel Hitchcock is an independent curator and researcher living and working in the Catskills, NY, and is the Director of Liberal Arts Roxbury in Roxbury, NY.
