March 6 - May 1, 2020
Eric Kunsman is a photographer and book artist based out of Rochester, New York. Eric works at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as a Lecturer for the Visual Communications Studies Department at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and is an adjunct professor for the School of Photographic Arts & Sciences. Eric’s current project is — Fake News Archive Project: A Historical Archive of the Donald J. Trump Presidency.
Eric has been taking screen shots of his phone every day since the inauguration of Donald Trump. He is compiling them in a three volume, bound historical record. “This is my approach at recording history in the tumultuous times we live in and a historical approach to looking at the Presidency of Donald J. Trump and his claim of “Fake News.” These images are to serve in a historical context and not as a political statement. This project started the day after Election Day and will continue until (TBD.)” Eric Kunsman
On Friday March 6th at 6:00 pm Eric will be at A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas to introduce his project and preside over the pinning of his images to the back wall of the gallery. This will be a participatory event. The public is invited. With Freedom of the Press and Free Speech under assault by the Trump regime this is a subject that should be of concern to all artists.
