February 27 - May 28, 2020
Moncrief Cancer Institute in partnership with the Texas Christian University (TCU) School of Art presents The Art of Performance, featuring works on paper from the TCU Permanent Art Collection. The Art of Performance will be on view at Moncrief Cancer Institute from February 27 until May 28, 2020, with a public reception during FWADA Spring Gallery Night on Saturday, March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. During the reception the curators will give a brief talk about the theme of the exhibition, as well as the therapeutic quality of art and community.
The Art of Performance presents a selection of works on paper from TCU’s Permanent Art Collection. Although these works are very different from one another, they all explore the broad concept of performance. “Performance” here encompasses music, theatre, festivity, and artistic creation. This exhibition also addresses the importance of audience and community participation. The work is dynamic, unexpected and presents audience members with a new perspective. This exhibition considers audience as a vital part of a performance, and we invite you to be a part of that audience.
