The 12th annual Booker-Lowe Lecture, presented by Sonya Clark, is cosponsored by the Glassell School of Art and Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.
The art of Sonya Clark traces connections between hair and textiles, communities and commodities, and racialized identities. In “A thread, a hair, a lineage,” she presents a series of artwork and projects invoking ancestral ties, evoking historical legacies, and addressing contemporary relationships through crafted materials, found objects, and collaborative actions.
