“This second exhibition of the new nonprofit is a site-specific installation that mixes traditional elements of the celebration with a contemporary interpretation. Hundreds of colorful visual elements fill the entirety of a 7,000-square-foot museum space to honor immigrants who lost their lives trying to cross the southern United States-Mexico border and those who have fallen due to gun violence.
After experiencing an eight-day hurdle for vital components of the exhibition to cross the United States-Mexico border with customs officials, local artists and students came to Romero’s aid to facilitate buildout of the installation in less than two weeks.”
