Cage Match Project announces Round 10: My Little Runaway by Houston-based artist Alex Goss.
By animating custom made, six-fingered latex gloves, My Little Runaway fantasizes on an unrequited relationship with a forbidden and lost appendage. A single, motor-driven belt threads each spectral hand together; flopping and flailing, they rotate in their own eccentric paths within the cycle of motion.
Cage Match Project (CMP) is a temporary, site-specific art-installation series in which selected artists are invited to engage a large, industrial caged-trailer. Measured at 20’x8’x7’, the weathered and rusted container resides in the exterior lot of The Museum of Human Achievement in Austin, TX where it is under constant exposure to the elements and 24-hour public viewership. CMP is curated by Ryan Hawk. Opening in conjunction with Satellite Art Fair and SXSW.
