February 23 - March 4, 2019
“Blood Memory is an exhibit that emphasizes Montoya Williams’ personal subjectivity to growth and the decolonization of her own identity. Using Afrofuturism as a backdrop, this series is about exploring a black femme identity before and beyond intergenerational trauma. The actions of remembrance and exploration are the mechanisms that Montoya refers to as Blood Memory.”
