November 16 - January 4, 2019
An exhibition of new works by artist Jwan Yosef. “There is a certain theme present in this series by Yosef, which makes an attempt at exemplifying his person. That theme is identity, one that he seeks to not only understand, but also displays in his personal search for its formation. In these works, Yosef has chosen to focus on three separate figures: the old Hollywood actor Rock Hudson, the Syrian dictator Hafez Al Assad, and his own father, Ahmad Yosef. All three of these figures, familiar in both the iconic and in the personal sense to Yosef, contributed to his understanding and development of his own personal heritage and in his concept of identity.”
