An exhibition featuring works by graduating UH senior sculpture students: Phillip Glaze, Bill Kelley, Tōbē Nelson, and Jacob Villalobos.
From UH: “Nelson combines embroidered fabric forms with carefully crafted ceramic faces to explore the way people relate to the world that they inhabit. Glaze conducts an exploration of social and cultural phenomena by bringing private exchanges into unlikely, staged encounters. Villalobos mixes a variety of waste materials with cement and casts them in cylindrical forms to make core samples. These samples bring to mind the connection between our place in a disposable culture and the effects of time and change. Kelley takes discarded, found objects and mashes them up to create whimsical, absurd art systems.”
