The School of Art at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting position to begin Fall 2020. We seek outstanding candidates with a dedicated painting practice and an active engagement with contemporary issues and discourse. The Visiting Assistant will teach a 3/3 load with courses at varying levels including graduate and undergraduate.
The successful candidate will have an active exhibition record with attendant critical attention and a developing record as a teacher and professional in the field of contemporary art. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, able to collaborate with faculty on the shared goal of setting a positive and energetic tone for the painting program.

Candidates must have an MFA, and at least two years of college-level teaching experience beyond graduate school.
