Marshall joined HCP in June of 2018 and has been its Administrative Manager for two years.

Applicants may apply for the $3,000 award beginning now through June 15, 2020, with one applicant to be selected by July 15.

Featuring works by Arielle Bob-Willis, Kwame Brathwaite, Micaiah Carter, and Dana Scruggs.

The recipients are New York-based photographer (and Houston native) Elizabeth Bick, and Briana Vargas of Houston.  

The 38 artists will participate in the Center Annual Exhibition that opens next month.

Happening annually, the show is guest-juried by a respected curator, writer, critic, or photography expert, who selects two winners from the hundreds of applicants.

Rattia relocated to Houston in 1994 where his 'Tease' series was awarded HCP’s Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship and a solo exhibition in 2017.

As the show’s title suggests, the curatorial impetus of the show is a renewed and revised consideration of the landscape, and an assertion of a female presence in that landscape.
