A solo exhibition featuring work by Caprice Pierucci.
From Davis Gallery:
“Davis Gallery is proud to present Full Circle: 40 Years of Making Art, a retrospective exhibition that surveys four decades of Caprice Pierucci’s prolific career as a visual artist. The earliest works featured in this comprehensive exhibition were created in the early 80’s, during the artist’s first years living in Austin with her mother, Louise, who Pierucci credits as a driving force behind her artistic pursuits. Inspired by the primitive nature of the artwork created by her mother and other contemporary female artists of the time, Pierucci began making her own sculptural works featuring handmade paper, which she would impale on wooden spikes. Her fascination with the inherent colors of the cotton papers, jute and pine materials she worked with launched her into a forty year practice that would result in the sophisticated hand-carved wooden forms Pierucci has become so well known for. Full Circle: 40 Years of Making Art traces the evolution from the hard-edged angst of Pierucci’s younger years, into the elegant looping and cascading masterworks of today.
Due to the COVID-19 virus there is no opening reception scheduled.”
