As preparations are underway for FIFA World Cup 26™, the organization is hosting poster contests in each of the host cities, including Arlington and Houston.
In 2026, the 23rd iteration of the World Cup will take place in 16 stadiums across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The North Texas location is AT&T Stadium, which is located in Arlington and will host nine games. The Houston site is NRG Stadium, which will host a total of seven games. See details of the match schedule on the FIFA website.
While FIFA has developed official posters in previous years, this year marks the first time that each host city will have a uniquely designed poster. Each competition is open to artists 18 and over but has some differing geographic criteria. The North Texas contest is open to artists residing within the state of Texas, and the Houston contest is open to artists residing in the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller.
For the North Texas competition, interested parties must register and submit their final design by November 11, 2024. Once registration is complete, they will receive guidelines and further details regarding how to submit the design. The Houston deadline for submissions is Monday, October 21 and finalists will be chosen by Friday, November 1.
Finalists will be selected for each of the competitions and the winner will receive $5,000.
