The programming schedule for the 18th annual Rockport Film Festival, a joint venture between the Rockport Center for the Arts and the Rotary Club of Rockport, has been released and tickets are now available to be purchased.
The festival will take place from Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 3, with a kick-off event happening on Thursday, October 31. The annual Red Carpet Party will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Rockport Conference Center (The ROCC). The Great Gatsby-themed event is limited to 240 guests and includes a premiere of Ullberg: Wind in the Sails, a documentary directed by Denise and Matthew Thornton about the Swedish naturalist and sculptor Kent Ullberg.
Throughout the weekend, the festival will include film screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and other social events. Film blocks include documentary, fiction, and student shorts, as well as double features of documentaries and fiction films. A special film block titled Local Love will be presented on Sunday, showcasing Coastal Bend themes and subjects. All screenings will take place at The ROCC. Click here for the full schedule.
Tickets for each film block costs $10 and a VIP Pass providing entry to all films and the Red Carpet Party costs $125. Evening cocktail receptions open to the public will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wind Way Gallery and Moon Over Water on Friday and Anita Diebel Gallery on Saturday. Proceeds from the event will support the local community by funding free and low-cost programs at the Rotary Club and Rockport Center for the Arts.
