Meow Wolf Houston has released sneak peek images of its permanent exhibition Radio Tave. Last month, the arts and entertainment company announced its Houston location will open on October 31, 2024.
Radio Tave was designed by more than 100 artists, half of whom are from Texas, including Cole Bee Wilson and Havel Ruck Projects. Visitors to the space will experience various unique rooms such as Cowboix Hevven, a cowboy-themed dive bar; the ETNL radio station; a cave-like space filled with “living instruments,” and Obsidiodyssey, a multi-room space designed by Santa Fe artist Janell Langford.
In a press release, Spencer Olsen, the Senior Creative Director for Meow Wolf Houston, commented, “Radio Tave is a story about a group of everyday colleagues who find their way through an otherworldly experience by embracing new possibilities. We’re inviting guests to become part of this community and contribute to the musical artistic expression of the show.”
Meow Wolf also released a new commercial featuring Fat Tony, a Nigerian-American rapper who was born in Houston’s Third Ward. He was also brought in as a collaborator to compose hip hop tracks that will be featured in the Radio Tave Arcade.
Gil Perez, the General Manager for Meow Wolf Houston, said, “Radio Tave will offer visitors a journey through the depths of their own imagination. From the moment you step inside, you will be transported into an entirely new reality — one that defies expectation and invites endless exploration and creativity.”
