The Rockport Center for the Arts (RCA) has opened a call for submissions for PechaKucha-style presentations for an event that will take place in February 2025.
PechaKucha presentations are of a particular format that uses 20 slides or images, each displaying for 20 seconds, resulting in a fast-paced mini-talk that lasts nearly 7 minutes. The presentations move automatically without a way to reverse or skip slides.
The call is seeking presentations from a variety of creative disciplines, including architecture, art, culinary, design, film, lifestyle, and music. The presentations should speak about projects that are in progress or have yet to be presented to the public, however, should not be treated as a marketing or fundraising pitch. Additionally, presentations must be family-friendly with no explicit, political, or religious content.
Interested presenters should send their name, profession, topic, and 20 slides to [email protected]. The submission deadline is Monday, December 2, 2024. Ten presenters will be selected by a panel and notified by Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The event will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Rockport Conference Center adjacent to RCA. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a cocktail party and presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. Learn more about submitting a presentation and attending the event via the RCA website.
