Stark Museum Opens Call for 3rd Annual College Juried Exhibition

The Stark Museum of Art in Beaumont has launched an open call for its third annual College Juried Art Exhibition. 

The call is open to students of all majors currently enrolled in a college and university in Orange County, Texas, Jefferson County, Texas, or Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Only two-dimensional work is eligible, including paintings, drawings, digital works, graphic design, and photography. The exhibition will be juried by museum staff, who will also select three works for awards sponsored by Blick Art Materials. The Best of Show will receive a $500 gift certificate and two honorable mentions will be awarded $100 gift certificates.

In a press release, Rebecca Johns, the museum’s School Programs Manager, said, “The Stark Museum of Art is committed to supporting the next generation of artists and fostering a vibrant artistic community. This exhibition not only offers valuable exposure but also provides tangible rewards to encourage and celebrate exceptional talent.”

The deadline to submit artwork is Sunday, October 20. Artists will be notified of their acceptance into the exhibition by October 23. The juried exhibition will be on view from November 9, through December 20 in the museum’s Community Art Gallery.
