The Idea Fund, a re-granting program funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by DiverseWorks in partnership with Aurora Picture Show and Project Row Houses, has announced its annual open call for Greater Houston-area artists. The organization defines the Greater Houston area as consisting of the following counties: Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Waller, Chambers, Liberty, Austin, or Montgomery.
The Idea Fund will award a total of $60,000 to artists and collectives through grants of $2,500 and $5,000. Grantees will be selected by a three-person jury. Applicants will be scored on the artistic and creative strength of the proposed project, the overall vision, and the capacity to bring the project to fruition.
Interested applicants are encouraged to participate in an information session. These sessions are free but registration is required.
