ICOSA Collective, an artist-run nonprofit in Austin, has announced a national call for entries for its Open Space 2024 juried exhibition.
The collective was founded in 2015 and its annual juried exhibition was instituted in 2019. Each year, ICOSA works with a guest curator to jury the show. Past curators have included Leslie Moody Castro, Sidney Mori, Claire Howard, Jill Schroeder, and Alex Klein. This year’s juror is Taylor Danielle Davis, an independent curator and landscape designer based in Austin. Learn more about Ms. Davis below, via a biography provided by ICOSA.
Open Space 2024 will run concurrently with Big Medium’s Austin Studio Tour, a free, annual, self-guided art event that spans two weekends in November. The call is open to all U.S. residents working in any medium, including 2D, 3D, and video. Submissions should only include works completed within the past two years. While there is no size limit, all artwork must be able to fit through the ICOSA doorway, which is eight feet tall by four feet wide.
The deadline to apply is Friday, September 27 at 11:59 p.m. Selected artists will be notified on Monday, October 14 and all work must be received at ICOSA by Monday, November 4. An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 8, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
