Ms. Sage is the Director of the University Art Museum at New Mexico State University. Born in New York, Ms. Sage holds a BFA in Photography from Syracuse University and a Master of Digital Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Over the past 15 years, she has curated more than 150 exhibitions, many of which were at Like the Spice, a contemporary gallery she established in Williamsburg, New York.

In a press release, Roberta “Nina” Hassele, Executive Director of CAM, remarked, “We are excited to work with Marisa Sage, and can’t wait to see how her vision for the 2025 CAM Perennial unfolds.”

Ms. Sage commented, “As a passionate supporter of San Antonio’s vibrant art scene and the talented artists I already admire, I am excited to discover even more local talent through this open call process. I am equally eager to engage with a key educational arts institution in the San Antonio area, all while celebrating the CAM Perennial 2025 partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio Downtown Campus.”

Though past iterations of the CAM Perennial have focused on conversations between artists across Texas cities, this year the call is open only to artists living and working within the city limits of San Antonio. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 7 at 11:59 p.m. Selected artists will be featured in an exhibition in March 2025 at the UTSA Southwest Campus.
