The Chinati Foundation has released the schedule of events for its annual Chinati Weekend program.
Though traditionally held on the first weekend in October, this year it will take place during the second weekend of the month, Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13. Chinati Weekend has grown from its early days, which featured a small experience with friends and colleagues invited by Donald Judd, to be a three-day-long celebration filled with art, talks, music, and food, free and open to the public.
This year’s event will feature an exhibition of work by Zoe Leonard. Ms. Leonard’s Al río/To the River speaks to the history of the Rio Grande as a border and interrogates the question, “What does it mean to ask a body of water to perform a political task?” See the full schedule below.
