1. Tom Huck: Electric Baloneyland
Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking (Austin)

From Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking:

“Flatbed is proud to announce its annual Flatbed Community Press members’ group exhibition. Known as Flathead Printmakers, each is a member of the bustling Community studio where they have access to lithographic, intaglio and letterpress equipment. Flatbed is excited to see a growth in membership over the past year and is even more excited about the work being created in the Community space.

The 2024 Flathead exhibition will showcase works by Samantha Melvin, Alfonso Huerta Garcia, Nicole Grossberg, Deborah Poisot, Scott Bennett, Emery Spina, Jeffrey Lara, and Belinda Casey.”

2. New Acquisitions

From the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts:

“New Acquisitions is the first public exhibition of nearly 40 new additions to the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ collection, including an important gift of works on paper by Otis Dozier and Velma Davis Dozier from Denni Davis Washburn. Ranging from early Texas prints and drawings to contemporary painting and sculpture, the gifts featured in this exhibition have enriched and broadened the museum’s collections of Texas art and ceramic art, two of SAMFA’s focus areas of collecting.

The exhibition also includes works by Xavier Gonzalez (museum purchase with funds from Anne Shahan), Roger Allen and Akio Takamori (gifts of Pam Bladine in memory of Roger Allen), Jack Earl (a gift of John Williams), and Lee Albert Hill, Jesús Toro Martinez, Connie Connally, Tom Coleman and Frank Boyden (gifts of the artists).”

3. Dallas Contemporary Staff Exhibition

“Dallas Contemporary is proud to announce its inaugural Staff Exhibition, celebrating the diverse and dynamic creative talents of our dedicated team, curated by visitor services team members Ryan Semegran, Lion Roberson and Jillian Wendel. As a non-collecting arts space and a leading kunsthalle, Dallas Contemporary is committed to presenting the forefront of contemporary artistic practice. This unique exhibition highlights the personal art practices of our staff, showcasing how their individual creativity informs and enriches their professional roles within the museum.”

4. Roslyn Dupré: On U.S.

5. Give and Take
Longview Museum of Fine Arts
May 23 – September 15, 2024

From the Longview Museum of Fine Arts:
“This semester (Spring 2024), Tyler Junior College Art Professor and Department Chair, Derrick White decided to create a collaborative art piece with each of his painting students, a total of four classes. Derek Frazier, Curator of Collections & Preparator at the LMFA extended invitation for a museum exhibition of the works.

19 students have chosen to have their pieces exhibited at the museum along with 2 of Derrick White’s own works. White’s two pieces will bookend the exhibition being the one artwork he completed on his own exploring processes before starting the collaborations and the first piece he has created since completing the student collaborations.”
