Craighead Green Gallery in Dallas has announced the artists selected for its 31st New Texas Talent Juried Exhibition. See the full list of artists below.
The annual New Texas Talent exhibition is a juried show open to visual artists in the state who are over the age of 18 and are not currently represented by a for-profit or non-profit gallery. The show was launched by Scott Simons, who served as the gallery’s Director in the 1990s. Each year Craighead Green receives over 1,000 artwork submissions, which are reviewed by a guest juror who selects artists for the exhibition.
This year’s juror is Jessica Fuentes, an artist and educator who also serves as the News Editor at Glasstire. Prior to joining Glasstire, Ms. Fuentes worked in public schools, higher education, and museums. She was instrumental in developing the C3 Visiting Artist Project at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Carter Community Artists initiative at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, both programs that work directly with local artists. Ms. Fuentes was also the Founding Director of Kinfolk House, a collaborative art space established by Sedrick and Letitia Huckaby.

Ms. Fuentes told Glasstire, “I was incredibly impressed with the submissions to this year’s New Texas Talent juried show. Artists working in a variety of disciplines and styles submitted work to be considered. Across the works I saw patterns emerge of artists playing with abstraction and representation to create sometimes whimsical, sometimes eerie surreal pieces. I can’t wait to see how the show comes together at the gallery.”

The 31st New Texas Talent Juried Exhibition will be on view from July 20 through August 24 with an opening reception on Saturday, July 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Learn more about the gallery and see some of the selected works via Craighead Green’s social media.
