This Thursday, October 26, at 7pm, The Menil Collection will present author and art critic Jed Perl will discuss the life and work of Alexander Calder. A book signing will follow the talk.
Amazingly, the book is the first ever biography of Calder. artnet news writes:“Calder: the Conquest of Time traces how the artist (1898–1976) made mobiles, stabiles, and a mechanical circus cutting-edge Modern art. Even as a toddler, Calder marched to his own tune, Perl notes.”
