Over the years, Glasstire has reported on Barack and Michelle Obama’s support for the arts, in such articles as “Michelle Obama Awards Blaffer’s YAAP,” “Obama Apologizes to UT Art History Department,” and “Michelle Obama to Honor Mexi-Arte Museum.” Now, artnet News reports that they are starting the Obama Foundation Fellowship.

The artists and other civic-minded thinkers will have all-expenses paid trips to meet and network. One of the traits they are looking for are artists who are “talented, but not connected.” But before filling out the application for the two-year non-residential fellowship, ask yourself if you are eligible because they are also looking for “inspirational individuals who demonstrate humility and work collaboratively with others towards shared goals.”

The deadline for applications is October 6.
