There’s yet another important lecture series and this one is called “Till Now: Contemporary Art in Context.” Maybe it’s basic stuff; maybe not. It starts off tomorrow evening with Claire Bishop giving a lecture at the the University of Houston School of Art entitled, “Déjà Vu: Contemporary Art and the Ghosts of Modernism.”
On October 8th, they will also present Allan deSouza‘s lecture “NoW/here: The Present as an Entanglement of Absences” and, on November 12th, Katy Siegel will present “The Heroine Paint”: After Frankenthaler.”
