Cats Own the Internet: Acro-Cats return to San Antonio, Benefit Animal Welfare

by Bill Davenport September 2, 2011

Acro-Cats, a trained animal show featuring -you guessed it- cats (and a chicken), will be performing at the Josephine Theatre in San Antonio on Sept. 21-25. It’s return engagement, following a wildly popular show at the Rose Theater Company last November that benefited San Antonio Animal Care Services. Cats in need of good homes will be available for adoption before and after each performance from Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare.

The cats which perform in a rock band as well as walking tightropes and jumping through hoops, a are trained to respond to a clicker and treats. “Dogs are suckers for work; they’ll do it for a promise and handshake,” said trainer/comedian Samantha Martin, “cats like to see the bottom line.”

The tour continues to Super Happy Funland in Houston for several dates from Sept 29-October 2.
