One of Houston’s few legitimate claims to fame, the Art Car Parade, rolls down Allen Parkway from Waugh Drive to Bagby St. this Sunday, May 22, from 1-3pm, although the lineup, and the crowds begin at 9am. The Hoopla begins even earlier: tonight it’s the Art Car Ball at the Orange Show; Saturday night there’s a sneak peek at the cars and drivers at Discovery Green Park from 4-10pm. As The Orange Show says:”part folk art, part fine art, part wholly artistic expression of every kind, entirely monumental and thoroughly spectacular!”
