Houston’s expanded Inman Gallery re-opens sprawling spaces on May 20

by Bill Davenport May 15, 2011

The newly refurbished and expanded Inman Gallery in Houston opens its first exhibitions on Friday, May 20 with work by Shaun O’Dell. Simultaneously opening at the Inman Annex just down the row, Skin Freak, curated by Fran Colpitt features work by Aaron Parazette, John Pomara, Edith Baumann and Darcy Huebler. Inman was forced to occupy the annex (once Finesilver Gallery) after a surreal subterranean mud flow damaged the gallery’s building last year. Inman is re-opening an expanded version of it’s old space on Main St., augmented by what once was half of next door CTRL Gallery to create a sprawling three-space venue that one recent visitor jokingly termed “the Gagosian of the South.”
