			<description>I really like your idea of buying one piece of work every 3 years from the galleries we frequent.  I\'ve always felt like going to openings, interacting with the community, adding to the dialogue around the work, and furthering its ripple effects were important efforts - but always felt like some financial contribution would be necessary.  Of course, as a young artist, nothing on the walls is ever within an appropriate price level....plus, more often than not, similar work gets attained through trades or collaborations with other artists.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But I love this idea of buying a work on installment plan every few years.  The hypothetical plan you laid out seems very much like supporting public radio or some other institution vital to cultural life.  The thing is, I\'ve never heard a gallerist espouse this thought.  I really think if you put that out there as a viable idea for younger artists, you\'d get the support and money you desire and we\'d get the satisfaction of contributing (not to mention the art!).  Anways, I like that idea in particular.  I think I will adopt it and hope other young artists will consider doing so as well.</description>

			<description>I think that for hipsters, or anyone with very little money (because lord knows some hipsters have serious moolah) the assumption upon entering a gallery is just as you\'ve described it -- that they are there to show support, keep things vital, pulsing, fashionable and have that be their contribution to the art scene. Purchasing something seems a pipedream. But what you\'ve laid down here is the groundwork for initiating young art-viewers with the possiblity of actually buying art. Suddenly, the art scene they are a part of nominally becomes something they are fostering in an even stronger way. Calling hipsters and the not-rich to participate with purchaing power is laudable and deeply encouraging to those of us that until now thought it impossible. It\'s a rally cry if ever there was one.</description>

			<description>Great ideas from CR.  Factual and helpful to some folks who may have not understood some of the art purchasing \&quot;codes\&quot;.  Artwork is so enriching to live with, and galleries are very easy to work with overall.  Besides, in this economy, wouldn\'t you rather put some money in something you can enjoy, which is more likely to increase in value than in a bank which will give you negative numbers on pieces of paper?  Buy art now!  It is the soul of intelligence.  And in addition to buying, donate $20 to CADD, which is a non-profit that provides all kinds of support to galleries and artists in Dallas.  It\'s much healthier than the 5 Big Macs you burn that on monthly.....just kidding of course, but if we all simply give a little back to one of great art venues and/or galleries in town, it will go a long way in keeping us culturally rich as CR suggested.  And on that note, we will miss And/Or Gallery!   Best of luck!</description>

			<description>The problem is that Dallas is not culturally rich, and probably never will be so. Pretending it is, and that the city achieved some sort of Renaissance that we are losing seems laughable to anyone who knows better. Trying to rally the \'hipsters\' who show up in droves to drink 5 buck bottles of wine is Quixotic, at best. This is why I moved, and this is why And/Or closed. London calling? It\'s either that, or you can slug it out for scraps, like everyone else here does.</description>

The artist\'s in the gallery were never formally represented - there is NOTHING on the RA website about what is available by artists or really where to find info on them. The whole thing seems really non-committal in the worst way. So, like no crap it\'s not going to last.&lt;br /&gt;
