No Zoning: Artists Engage Houston

Houston's zoning-free approach to land use makes us unique among other large American cities. It adds to the flavor of the city, but has also been known to cause some friction. No Zoning: Artists Engage Houston is the first museum exhibition to "consider the current and past efforts of regional artists working in the urban environment," and will feature work by approximately 18 individuals and collaborative teams, the most talked about is easily The Art Guys, whose performance involved marrying a tree. Other artists included in the exhibit are Mary Ellen Carroll, Rick Lowe, Bill Davenport, The Flower Man (Cleveland Turner), The Fundred Dollar Bill Project (Mel Chin et al.), collaborators Dan Havel and Dean Ruck, Lauren Kelley, KnittaPlease (Magda Sayeg et al.), and others. Also, Andrea Grover of Aurora fame will be screening several films in conjunction with this exhibit, some of which you can even watch while lounging in a temporary hot tub on the CAMH's lawn!
