“In conjunction with San Antonio’s Tricentennial, UTSA’s Art & Art History Department is pleased to announce Then There is Us: Art in the Time of Surveillance, an exhibition curated by UTSA Associate Professor of Drawing and Painting, Christie Blizard, and UTSA Assistant Professor of New Media, Mark McCoin. Through the exploration of various aesthetic strategies, the four artists in this exhibition, Justin Korver, Houston Fryer, jason eric gonzales martinez, and Cristina Goletti, explore how they have adapted or responded to the idea of a control society, particularly one where the conditions of surveillance are both imagined and real.”
