September 11 - January 3, 2016
An exhibition of 100 works on paper that explores the historical roots and prominence of frottage, the method of mark-making through rubbing. Predominantly associated with Max Ernst, who claimed to have discovered the technique, frottage has an expansive history. This exhibition is co-organized with the Hammer Museum and is curated by Allegra Pesenti, Curator at Large for the Menil Drawing Institute.
