May 11 - 11, 2013
This year’s symposium brings together important scholars who focus on the intersections of twentieth-century postwar art, music, and sound in the United States and Europe. Acknowledging Dominique and John de Menil’s interest in supporting and commisioning avant-garde music, the symposium will also integrate two concerts of experimental music from the 1960s to the present.
Symposium moderator Melissa Warak is the 2012-2013 Vivian L. Smith Foundation Fellow at the Menil Collection.
Please note: this program takes place in the former Byzantine Fresco Chapel building, 4011 Yupon Street at Branard.
