Steven Parker: Soundspace: Space And Symmetry

A musical exploration of space and symmetry in the museum’s galleries featuring the local premier of Orbits, a work by visionary spatial composer Henry Brant featuring 80 trombones, a soprano, and organ. Other highlights include a theatrical work by composer Karlheinz Stockhausen that incorporates physical movement; interactive works for guitar and theremin; and solo works for voice and percussion. Performers include Dr. Tom Echols of the Austin Classical Guitar Society, Laura Mercado-Wright, soprano, and Nathan Williams- winner of the prestigious Gaudeamus International Competition.
