Marcelyn McNeil, when working on her most recent large-scale works on paper, has sought to achieve a “Quaker state-of-mind,” while George Grochocki, purposefully limiting himself to the colors white, black, silver and gold, “seems too be more concerned with Continental philosophy, via Spinoza”.
