Sculptor Tara Conley and writer Tria Wood combine rhyme, candy-colors, and lyrically bent steel, undulating fiberglass, tufted cotton and glossy vinyl to make a seductive storybook world, hiding perils for a woman who is treated like a doll. A catalog and film about the show are in the works.

Panelists Kim Davenport of Rice Gallery, Dr. Elizabeth Gregory, Director of Women’s Studies at UH, and Dr. Nels P. Highberg, Professor of Rhetoric at the University of Hartford, discuss social, cultural, and artistic issues raised by My Life as a Doll Moderated by curator Diane Barber.
